Hi all,
I'm visitng Pune from Delhi on 23rd June. I wud like to visit western ghats - a place which is green, forested with waterfalls... but wud like to stay away from crowds that throng to places like Lonavala, Khandala, Matheran etc. How about Malshej Ghat or Bhandardara etc. - please send in your detailed suggestions with some informative sites ?? Last year I had been to this resort (near from Pune) called
Maval Srushti. Was a nice experience. Check out their website http://www.mavalsrushti.com/ To be visited mainly during monsoons. Food available is only Maharashtrian, no room service available. If you love nature & want to stay away from the crowd do visit this place, but not on Sundays. Ronak. |

Bhandardara is a excellent place.
If the monsoon sets in by the 23' June, you will like it very much. Stay at the MTDC Resort. It is at a excellent location. http://www.maharashtratourism.gov.in/ |

About two years back I and may family members stayed in Blue Mormon Jungle Resort which is located about 8 kms ahead of Bhimashankar. The resort is very peaceful. They have restaurant to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner - mostly maharashtrian food. The charges are reasonable. Pl check their website:

Yes- you will be traveling in rains. This could be memorable experience, so get ready.
I like Bhandardara..and specially trekking to remote places as this region is very well connected with roads to remote places. If you ever could visit CHAVAND ...this is also a scenic place. |
