Kedar Janani Devasthan
A visit to a temple named Kedar Janani situated in Tise village near Kolad which is situated on top of a hill. This temple is the ancestral goddess of one of my friend, who visits this temple every year during Navratri. This year I decided to accompany him. We were a group of 6 guys. We reached Tise village in my friend’s car around 7:30 in the evening. We deliberately did this trek during the night to avoid the heat during the day. Each one of us had a bag pack with cooking utensils and food items as the friend had to cook food and give it as offering to the goddess. We started our trek at 8:00 pm and reached on top of the hill after a trek of 3 and half hours. In between it started raining and it made our trek a bit difficult. After reaching the top we took shelter in the Shiv temple, prepared tea and refreshed our selves. Then we started collecting wood for cooking food. By the time the food was prepared it was around 01:30 am in the morning. We offered the food to the goddess and had our dinner.

We got up in the morning and I had a great view of the valley. People started coming up the mountain by around 8:00 and by the time we left the temple was crowded with devotees. We prepared Maggi which served as our breakfast. We started our trek back to Tise village at 11:00 and reached around 2:00 in the afternoon stopping on the way for taking photos and resting. At this time we were happy to have decided to trek during the night previous day as it was hot while descending the hill.
