Try Panchgani instead.
Also Tarkarli is an option, opt for an AC room at the MTDC resort.

You can spend 3 - 4 days in Tarkarli. You can also visit Vengrula beach. You can add Amboli (hill station)

Also check out this link for unique homestays in the region

it's a honeymoon, yaar - postpone sightseeing for the 1st anniversary!
go with what shahronakm has suggested - if the sea appeals to you.

what exactly are you looking for - knowing that will help with suggestions.

Good to know that you have changed your mind and going to Shimla.

But you can go to Matheran for your second honeymoon anytime in month of August-September. You can spend 2-3 nights there and explore the beauty of nature with your loveone.

Regards
Rushi

Excellent decision, May is not the time to go anywhere in maharashtra; Himachal is a good choice but Shimla to my mind can be avoided

places to visit in maharashtra

hi,

there are lots of places to visit for honeymoon, for instance, people choose the scenic mountains of shyhadri, that is the lonavla or khandala city, close to mumbai.
