Help/Advice needed on interesting destinatons/subjects

I am a photographer riding a motorcycle from Kota Rajasthan to Kerala. To get more of an idea on what I do here is my blog:

I am looking for interesting subjects along my way. I know that Kolhapur is famous for Kusti, (ancient type of wrestling) I have heard of the ritualistic art form of Theyyam in Kerala and the buffalo races in Karnataka. This sort of stuff potentially makes for interesting photography. If any of the wonderful IMERS live in or around the areas I will be going through and want to chat about something that makes their town special (if it is on the way from Kota Rajasthan to Kerala) over lunch or chai - that would be fantastic. I’m not looking to hire a guide, just to hear/meet individuals, perhaps with similar interests as me or simply passionate about their area and eager to see some of the better or lesser-known stories of their area told through photos in a positive way.
