Not my contribution, but this is what I had saved on my PC from a review on mouthshut.com (in inverted commas)

"1. MTDC
http://www.maharashtratourism.gov.in
Review:- the MTDC is at very nice location, although I booked a "standard room" but the view from the room was excellent, I was able to see the full lake from my balcony
Bad:-
1. Food quality of the restaurant is not good.
2. No room service.
3. Lot of street dogs. Almost 20 dogs were present at my door. And all night they were barding and fighting.
Rates: - you can find the rates from the Website.
Note: - They have given me standard room on the ground flour, but i guess it would be better if one can take the "standard room" on the first or second flour.

2. Anandvan
http://www.anandvanresorts.com/

3. Hotel Amruteshwar (No website)
Near MTDC resort and Anandvan Resort.
At post Shendy (Bhandardara), Tal. Akole, Dist. A.Nagar
Tel:
Rajusheth Rathod: 02424-2571122
Sachin Rathod: 9420342877, 9421584380, 9423650077, 9423650008
Rent : - 1200
double - 1200(back)/1500(front)
Review:- As the rates didn’t suit me, I didn’t book this, although I had been there (didn’t see the rooms) the place was good.

4. Yashresort
Address:
Bhandardara(Shendi Village),Taluka – Akole,
District – Ahmednagar,Bhandardara, Maharashtra 422601, India
Phone : - 09890081324
www.yashresort.co.in
Review:- I had been here twice for dinner, although I didn’t stay there as the rates didn’t suit me, but i really like the dinner and food quality. service is very good staff is also very cooperative.

5. Amit lodge (No internet / Phone booking)
Vikas 9423910771
15 room (double bed) 800
(no phone/internet booking)

6. Batliwala banglow (No internet / Phone booking)
Parte - 9421330496
Rate :- 500/- Shanivari
Review:- I stayed at this place for one day, It was a worst night I have ever spent, some party of around 50 had have been there, and they were make lot of noise that we couldn’t sleep till 1 or 2 in the night. Room condition is not good, all room are very small.
Note:-
1. After reaching "Shendi" village, just ask any one the route to "MTDC" this place is exactly apposite to MTDC.
2. As there is no reservation, you need to call and request for blocking one room
3. Once you book any room, just enquire if any there is any party tonight, so that you can avoid staying at that place."

Hi,

I had stayed at Yash resorts last year with my family - it is a decent option with clean rooms and good food.It is not located on the lakeside but the hotels which are: MTDC and Sri Amruteshwar are not as good - although the views from MTDC are very nice.

Anandvan I am not considering at all because of the completely unrealistic pricing.

Cheers

i am planning 15th aug weekend. so MTDC is all booked. Anandvan is way way unrealistic , also yash resort is not also not so cheap. They are charging around 8500 for a package including meals for 2N/3D kind of a thing. I was considering Amruteshwar , any reviews on that , anyone stayed there in recent times.

Red face

Friends,

Yesterday itself we came back from Bhandardara-Malshej ghat trip.

We started from Pune at 8 am, reached Malshej by 12 pm and enjoyed there till 2 pm, then travelled Bhandardra at 5 pm.

We stayed at Hotel Amruteshwar. Our feedback is -

We did not find hotel food that much worst or bad as described by many visiter on this forum but did not like the lodging arrangements at all...all cloths bed sheets were smelling badly and the top was leaked so water continusely coming down ..... due to air pressure could not sleep well as all windows were making noise.

Whole story at Bhandardara is ..there are very few ( rather only 2) good hotels and they charge like anyting....for ex, on sunday buffet is charged Rs 400 per head ....

MTDC reastaurent is worst ever, all plates were smelling like It gave me omitting feeling.

But Nature here is very lovely and worth visiting.

Workout - Go on OFF weekends and get good rates at Yash resorts.

Yash resort fellows do not take one night booking on sat/sunday...which they accept on weekdays....which is bit affordable.

Help!!!

Hi,

I am planning to visit Bhandardara with 3 more people in first week of July.

Now MTDC is booked.
Amruteshwar is charging 3000 per room!
Anandvan's quote I deleted .

Where else can i get in? Should be at least clean and tidy and within budget.
I am not very keen to spend 3K for Amruteshwar since no information is available on the net regarding it.

Please help me .

thanks
Sid

I would say go there and look around. You will get some more options there. I was there in early 90's and recollect seeing a few hotels close to the bus stand.
Kedar Janani Devasthan, Mt Abu - Udaipur, Bharatpur, Agra, Gwalior, Orchha, Jhansi

Thanks Aarosh.

However given the peak season, I am a bit apprehensive about going and checking the hotels there.
If I don't get one I will be in a fix, with family around.

Sid
