Chennai to Mumbai, urgent, help plz

Hello,

I need to reach mumbai urgently by sunday night, railway tatkal showing big waiting list. So I decided to take bus (Chennai-Mumbai). I searched net, was shocked to see that there aren't any interstate buses between the two states, so have finally decided to travel in general comptt somehow up to some junction say SHOLAPUR and then take intercity buses. But again it was surprising there aren't any buses frm thr to mumbai.

Anyone having some solution please let me know.

Flights would offer the quickest way to get there. But, if budget is a concern,, then you can consider taking one of the many day trains from Chennai to Bangalore and then an over night bus from there.

If you can get to Sholapur, do so. You will get at least an ST bus to Poona which is very well connected to Mumbai.

Sholapur to Mumbai is 450 km. I wouldnt be surprised if ST buses go upto New Bombay at least from there, but they go to Poona.

Alternately, Hyderabad. Lots of buses from here to Mumbai.

PS, By the way, have edited the title of the thread and included Chennai/Mumbai
