Beach trip in Maharashtra in October

Hi
I want to follow the path outlined on this blog
http://indsight.org/blog/archives/20...fe-is-a-beach/

to make a beach trip in October.
I will be travelling with wife and 3 year of daughter.
What are the pros and cons? Is it doable? Should we rent a car
Which are the recommended hotels along that route?

Our operating base in going to be Mumbai

All suggestions are welcome
Thanks

Hi,

Welcome to India....

One important thing, are you coming in time of Diwali / Diwali Vacation. In diwali vacation beaches are becoming very crowdy.

If you want to add some flavor in your trip, rather than hiring a Car, you can rent a Bike and you can visit all the beaches on your Bike, this will not cheaper as well as saves lot of time.

From Mumbai via ChurcheGate ferry to Mandava along with your bike.

From there you can go for Alibag-Kashid (Night stay at Kashid) and go for Janjira.

From Janjira again from Ferry you can go for Srivardhan and Ganapati phule.

If you are interested then let me know, I will give you details. or you can also search for similar thread.

Good Beach
Kashid, Murud, Srivardhan, Dhapoli, Ganapatiphule and Ratnagiri

For Tarkarli & Ganapatipule, go for MTDC. At tarkarli, book the Bamboo Boat House for a unique experience. I would suggest that you should take out one day at Tarkarli and lodge yourself at the House Boat in the Karli Back Waters. this is also run by MTDC however advance booking would be needed at all of these properties in December.
