Aurangabad : is Hotel Ashok closed down ?

Namaste Friends,

Following IMers' recommendations I've been trying to book myself into Hotel Ashok, Aurangabad. After two full days of dead ends I'm about ready to give up and this is my last resort.

Before you start throwing websites at me :
Obviously, many travel portals offer it - but when you try and make that reservation you get a "oops, sorry, no can do" message. Sometimes it says "the fares for that hotel have not yet been communicated". Which is not good.
As you can guess I have tried the Ashok Group website, and it is down, they haven't renewed their domain name. Would have thought it just careless on their part, but together with the rest of the dead ends, it's not a good sign, is it?
Neither the FRHAI nor the MTDC have the hotel in their Aurangabad listings.
Which is not good, either.
And it also means I can't get a phone number for the confounded hotel.

Any suggestions, including for alternative mid-range hotels ? The 5* are too expensive for me, the Windsor has 5* tariffs ( they answered my email with a quote of 2,000 INR / night for this December) and that's pretty much it if I want to stay inside the town. I'm aware that I can find cheap rooms on turning up, but I'll be arriving in town after 10 PM (at best, if my Mumbai train is on time) in mid-december so I may be left with the worst end of that choice.
