aurangabad-hospet

does anyone know if there's a direct train for aurangabad to hospet? and how long does it take?
i've been trying to find that out on India Rail site, but it's soooo confusing. so if you know anything please let me know.

Probably the best way is to take a bus from Aurangabad to Ahmadnagar (110 Kms. connected by direct road) then get the Goa Express (Train 2780A) at 13:05 (daily) to Hubli (arrives 05:10).

2 tier air con = Rs 1218
Sleeper class (not air con) = Rs 301

Train 312 departs Hubli daily at 08:00 and gets to Hospet at 11:55. (Sleeper & unreserved 2nd class only).

Train 7226 (M, Tu, Th, F) or 7228 (W, Sa, Su) departs Hubli at 13:00 and gets to Hospet at 16:00.

2 tier air con = Rs 438
Sleeper class (not air con) = Rs 121

If you book a 'through ticket' you will save a few rupee's, see details of how to book (very easy) in the following thread.

Understanding Reservation Forms.

If you do book a through ticket, go for the later train from Hubli, the Goa Express starts from Delhi, so may be late getting to Hubli.

Make sure you are in the right part of the train or you will wake up in Goa, this train has a couple of carriages detached at Londa, these carriages are then taken to Hubli.

Double check details of train 7226/7228, Indian Railways website has the train departing Hubli at 12:30, but the Southern region timetable has it departing at 13:00.
