There was one more Hotel at Amboli. It is as soon as one enters the village from the NH4 side. It was called GRD International or JRD International. And I think there will be plenty of vacancies in Amboli at this point of the year. So maybe you can just go there, check out the various hotel rooms for yourselves and then decide. I suggest that you reach Amboli when the sun is still up.

Best time to visit Amboli is Rainy season
What to see - water falls, sunset point, origin of river greenery

Previously it was best place to visit with family
Now a days it has become very bad
I will not like to go there with my family

Many groups just drinks & hang away
young generation go on teasing & teasing

Every where what we see are empty bottles of wine, plastic
not properly maintained hill station

In other words, it has become another Malshej Ghat [monsoon time].

What a shame. I know exactly what you mean. I witnessed a group of young men, obviously drunk, dancing in the middle of the road at Malshej Ghat, and refusing to let an ST bus go through. The driver must have been used to such incidents for he handled it very calmly, stopped his bus, without engaging in words with the group, while his conductor walked to the tunnel end where the police are stationed. When the drunks saw the havaldar approaching, one of the more sober of their group bundled them all into their Qualis and they sped away in the opposite direction.
