accommodations in Aurangabad

I have searched the hotel thread and threads on Ajanta and Ellora, for advice on where to stay to tour the caves in Ajanta and Ellora. I waited too late to book a room in the high end hotels in Aurangabad for early February. Taj Residency, WelcomHotel Rama International, and Park Hotel are fully booked for the first weekend of February. Has anyone a hotel in Aurangabad they recommend, mid-range or high? I did send an inquiry to Kailish Hotel in Ellora that some on this site recommended. I'm waiting for a reply. We could alter our plans for another weekend, but that would take some negotiating. Thanks for your help.

I don't know about mid/high range hotels in Aurangabad but you'll find plenty hotels in the city. Have stayed a month ago in Great Punjab near Railways Station and not that bad, you have many other options in the area like Classic Hotel etc... There are hotels here and there, don't worry about it. In my opinion Ellora is not as place to stay, visit the caves and pay also a visit to Daulatabad and go back to Aurangabad.

Hi

We are in Aurangabad at the end of January and have booked the Hotel Windsor Castle in Aurangabad. It has good reviews on Tripadvisor too. Hope this helps you.

Hey bjm,

I had stayed in Great Punjab couple of years ago. That is a good hotel.

Ajanta and Ellora are "World Heritage" sites. Really interesting both, though Ajanta is a bit far from Aurangabad. Taxis from Aurangabad to Ellora/Daulatabad cost around 600 Rs. and to Ajanta around 900-1000 Rs.
