A New landmark - Bandra - Worli Sea Link

Hi All,

A new landmark "Bandra Worli Sea link" is going to be open from Jun 30, I am exciting to ride on First Day itself.

I want to feel heavy tide in rainy season on new landmark.

Regards
Rushi

Actually today morning, I took a ride [A Free ride], it was amazing expierence. It took me 10 minutes for me to reach Worli from Bandra.

I will upload photos soon.

Actual toll for 4 wheeler is 50RS, one trip. Goverment decided not to take any toll for next 5 days (ie till sunday).

There are some obvious reasons why all people going to south will not use this sea-link...
1) toll
2) if you want to go to Dadar, Prabhadevi or somewhere in Eastern side of Mumbai Central, then you have to unnecessary travel to Worli.

Yes but this is first kind of project in India and looking for some good projects in pipe.

Rocking India

Regards
Rushi

what i think the 'law' is perhaps trying to do - and rightly so
is prevent cars from parking on the bridge - and folks wandering about... short of a picnic.

as arunganpath has rightly said - too many pictures of the bridge already.
shooting on the howrah bridge was prohibited, dont know if it still is - not that that prevented free-flow of traffic on that bridge

10mins from bandra to worli... uuffff - what a treat.
on the downside - i think the structure is going to affect the marine life

Its high time planner should realalize that mere building a bridge/flyover wont solve the traffic problem.Infact its gonna create bigger mess now.You ll see bigger jam at Hajiali and Bandra western express way.
Debottlenecking has to go handn gloves with it.

One of the reasons for the 2005 flooding of Mumbai- which shut down the city for a few days absolutely- and caused a few hundred deaths, by best estimates, was this bridge.

During construction, the Mithi river had been further restricted, despite conservationists' raising a little hue and cry.

So high water, heavy rain and restricted storm water drainage, and voila. Water upto the first floor or higher. Everything shut down, water, phones, electricity, emergency services....

When they realise that problems should be solved and not built over is when we will get cities that can actually survive.
