Nagda - Dahr -Mandu route or Indore - Dhar _ Mandu

I am planning to reach Mandu from Udaipur via following route

Udaipur- Nagda by train

Nagda - Dhar _ Mandu by road

Nagda - Dhar _ Mandu route seems shorter than the traditional Indore - Dhar _ Mandu route & I can save some time.

Please suggest

So in my opinion you have to reach Mandu from Indore only.

I have travelled from Indore to mandu via Dhar and road condition is pretty well. Its good not the usual MP roads.
I have no Idea Nagda -Dhar Road but definately Indore is big city so have more options to travel.

How was Mandu?

Where did you sleep? Were there many travellers? How long was the bus ride from Indore?

Dhar has some Mandu era mosques and tombs. The Road to Mandu was full of potholes when I went, which is very M.P.
Why stay at home when you can see the world?

The road from Dhar to Mandu is now in very good conditions and very scenic.

There are no direct buses from Indore to Mandu, or at least not very often. The best way is bus to Dhar and then another one to Mandu. If you must spend some hours in Mandu don't worry because is a nice small city to visit.

Dhar also has a Mandu era fort with Mandu style ruins. The sultaan moved his HQ from Dhar to Mandu. I didn't go to the old ruins in Dhar since I was changing buses at Dhar from Indore en route to Mandu.
