Kolkata to MP ( part) -->7-8 days trip

We are planning for a trip to MP from Kolkata during end of Oct 2012.
Since we have a short time, so we only plan to cover only a part of MP during this trip.
Finally after a long thought we want to visit the Kanha, Panchmarhi & Jabalpur

Our plan:

Reach Nagpur via flight
Go to Kanha (Kisli gate) by car
2 night stay in Kanha
Move to Jabalpur by car
1 night stay at Jabalpur ( at
Plan to go to Panchmari by Car ( any idea about trains?)
2 night 3 days stay at Panchmari
back to Nagpur for flight by car ( any trains available?)


Please let me know if there can be any modifications to make the trip better and less hastle free and any other places than can be visited on the way.

Any other suggestions/info are highly appreciated.

You can catch the train from Jabalpur/Katni (Mumbai-Howrah mail). Will start from Jabalpur in afternoon around 1:30 and takes ~18 hrs to kolkata.

Any reason why you want to fly to Nagpur and not Raipur (which is closer to Kanha).

Also keep in mind that roads generally in MP are not that good and it would take considerable time to travel from one location to another.

Also you can substitute Kanha by Bandhavgarh (unless you want to go to Kanha) which would allow you to catch the train to howrah from Katni. You can then land in Nagpur, go to Panchmarhi, then over to Jabalpur, Bandhavagarh and back to Kolkata.
