Indore Trip

I am planning a trip to Indore and it will wonderful to know a few things about before visiting.

I am looking for a Budget guest house/ hotel but clean and not too far from city centre.

Secondly What you would like to recommend for Visiting in Indore and famous local food join or Restaurant.

Can i get Bike on rent here in Indore.

Though you won't find any bike on rent in Indore, there are city bus to roam around. You may also book radio cab in Indore on 6-hourly basis which would help you in visiting all the important places.

There are temples like Khajrana temple, Kaanch Mandir and Lalbag where the tourist goes to visit.

Please let's know, what exactly is your engagement in Indore, so that a better plan could be suggested to you!

i am interested to visit Malwa Utsav and would like to meet some artisians there, do you know the exact dates, i got some informationt that it will start from 1st of May.

Yes, The colorful Malwa Utsav is being held at Lalbag Premises in Indore being inaugurated tomorrow, Tuesday, 02-May-2012 at 8:30 PM. And you are correct, you would get opportunity to meet a lot of artisans there!

Do you know the dates of this festival.

Sorry, no detailed information! Most probably it is up to Sunday, 6th May! I would try to get back on this. Not a single newspaper has covered this news today. The popularity of this programme can be gauged by this!

The Utsav (festival) starts tomorrow on Tuesday, 02-May-2012 at 8:30 PM.

is the Malwa Utsav of interest to westerners?

Maybe i could venture there if i feel better tomorrow.

You would find local handicrafts, local eateries and local cultural programme! Nothing noticeable for the local crowd but you may be amazed to see the dances being performed, handicrafts created by tribal people of the localities.

While eating you would be keeping in mind that recently you were seeking help of doctors, ... just kidding!!

The schedule of Malwa Utsav would be as follows:

Venue: LalBaag Palace Premise, Indore
Duration: Wednesday, 2nd May to Sunday, 6th May
Timing: 4 PM onwards Cultural Programmes after 7 PM
Main Attraction: Food Festival, Shilp Mela (Mega Artisan fair), Cultural Programmes, etc.

The Utsav would be inaugurated at 07:30 PM on Wednesday, 2nd May.

Can you tell me clean budget guesthouse or hotels in city centre. or centre of the city.

You would get a lot of lodges near railway station on meter gauge side (locality is called Chhoti Gwal Toli). You visit two or three and you would find one at reasonable rate. You should see the rooms from inside before booking one!

If you could add more, you may reach RNT Marg and get mid-range hotels.
