Hotels in Ujjain

Hi,

I am travelling to Ujjain & Indore around 10th November for 3 days. Would like to know if there are any good hotels in Ujjain. I intend to visit the Omkareshwar and Mahakaleshwar jyotirlingas. i have found good hotels in Indore (Sarovar Portico, Lemon Tree) but havent been able to find any good one in Ujjain.

Regards

Shalini

It is already some years ago that we were in Ujjain and stayed in hotel Ashray http://www.hotelashray.com/index.html
As far as I remember it was a decent place to stay.

Shalini,
If wished, you may stay at Mahakaal Dharmashala. It is located just beside Mahakaal Temple at reasonable rate. It is being kept very neat & clean. The contact number is 0734-2551714. Pre-booking might be required!
New hotels have come up on Ujjain-Indore Road; but as I choose Dharamshala every time, I do not have much idea about those hotels.
But, if you are staying at Indore you may visit Ujjain from there by booking cab at Indore.
There are two cab services available in Indore. Metro Cab (Phone No 0731-4288888) and Star Cab (Phone no 0731-6333333). Metro cab would be charging you Rs 1550 for return journey covering 8 hour or 150 km (Ujjain is around 60 km from Indore). Then Rs 12/- per KM or Rs 150/- per hour.
They would be charging you Rs 1300/- for one way.
Star Cab charges Rs 1250/- for return journey covering 150 km. They provide Santro car. They charge Rs 13 for every extra km. rs 1050/- is charged for one way.
