Awestruck by the Beauty of Khajuraho
I recently visited the Khajuraho temples in Madhya Pradesh and was really amazed at the beauty of the temples...the way they are made with stones and all resemble love.
Its a fine example of architectural beauty and really inspires you...got goosebumps after watching this video on Khajuraho temples.
Have you guys ever been to Khajuraho? Whats your opinion?

The temple are an architectural delight. Kandaria Mahadev is a real gem.
The sculptures in Jain Temples like the Divine Couple, the lady applying kohl etc are spectacular.

The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes - Marcel Proust
The Western group of temples are really amazing. One just wonders how the scultors would have carved these mamoth temples. Each one is a wonder in itself...Especially now that they are doing the clean up of the facade it really is looking impressive.

Yes certainly , cycling is the best way to cover the eastern and southern group... Even walking down doing the entire circuit is not bad.. Yes, architecture that leaves your wonder struck. We rented their audio guide, which gave minimal information, leaving me disappointed. So, I was looking forward to their sound and light show, which was really hyped up as being in Amitabh Bachan's baritone voice, but I almost fell asleep at the show. The volume was very low, it kind of drones on and on, no story telling, nothing exciting. Some people even walked out of the show.
My son who studied about the Khandariya Mahadeva temple in his history lessons later told me that the spires are so designed that they NEVER cast shadows. I wish I known of this earlier, then I could have really checked it out.
Also, while building the temple, a 4 klms long ramp was built to reach the top of the temple. The ramp was later dislodged, after the construction was complete.

That is interesting information. Wish we had such info readily available

Welcome to IndiaMike, Ajay44001!
I think you will really enjoy the Khajuraho Temples, they are amazing! Khajuraho is one of my favorite places in India. I visited during monsoon, so maybe that was why is was so green, but the city is beautiful. At the main temple area there was very little traffic and no trash. Feel free to look over my photos in my blog if you'd like. Enjoy your visit to Khajuraho!
