Visit To Indore And Ujjain
I would seek guidance for a comfortable trip for two senior citizens from Mumbai to Indore and Ujjain. Is it ok to take a flight to Indore from Mumbai and then visit both Indore and Ujjain by a hired vehicle or take a vehicle from Mumbai? I would also seek guidance for selecting very good guest house/ hotel (within Rs 3500/- per day). Which Jyotilingas can be covered ? They have four days to spare for this visit.

1.Avantika Express leaves Bombay at 19:05 and reaches Indore 09:20 hrs. A less expensive & reasonably comfortable overnight travel alternative.
2.At Indore, we stayed at Amar Vilas on AB Road last month. Double room cost us Rs.2100. http://www.hotelamarvilas.com/ Good hotel. Hotel Shreemaya on AB Road & Hotel Sayaji are other popular upscale hotels in Indore. Good food in all these 3 hotels. Chappan Dukan is a popular destination in Indore for desi snacks - I loiked it :-) |

A friend stayed in Iscon temple at Ujjain and highly reccomends it. For non Iscon members it would cost around 1000/night and I understand they are very comfortable A/C rooms. The temple is also in a good location in Ujjain and the food is reportedly good. I hear the rooms can be booked from Iscon temple in Juhu. If they are senior citizens going for on a temple trip they may like it.

Ujjain accommodation

http://www.travelpod.com/travel-blog...9910/tpod.html The above like may be of little helpful. I stayed in Yatrinivas. This is very near to Railway station. From here you will get lot of transport to the temple. Food: Near "Theen Bathi" (Location) Iddly Dosa and all items are available. Excellent at very nominal cost. |
