ujjian
I posted this in the general itinerary forum, but I think I might get more responses here. I would most appreciate your comments...
I am trying to figure out how to get around Ujjian. My plan is to take a train from Jhansi to Ujjian, spend time there, and then see Mandu, Omkareshwar, Maheshwar. What is the best and easiest way to tour these towns? What is the most logical sequence to go from city to city to city? I am probably going to have to use Indore as a hub. Do (should) I hire a taxi, or is that not necessary? A few other questions: 1. how good are these towns...they are not the easiest to get to...is it worth the visit? 2. Is Bhopal and Sanchi worth the visit? Of course, seeing these would mean other towns would have to be skipped. 3. Anything to see in the town of Dhar? thanks! |

sam.......Ujjain is a an ancient city and has a mention in the Hindu Mythology. It is one of the cities where the Kumbh Mela is held(others being Nasik,Haridwar and Varanasi). There are a few ancient temples like Kal Bhairav and a couple more.
In general, Madhya Pradesh is a farily interesting state. You may want to google on Khajuraho, Orchha, Bandhavgarh etc. I would have loved to elaborate, but I am late already. more info here http://www.mptourism.com/index.html
