Transport from Gondia railway station to Kisli (Kanha)

What transport can I expect from Gondia railway station to Kisli? I would be going to Baghira Log Huts (M.P. Tourism accommodation in Kanha).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

you can take M.P tourism state bus or hire a taxi. M.P tourism and few private opraters run AC and non Ac buses .or reach upto mandala via train and then take a taxi from there .kanha kisli is just about 60+ km. from there . it also has chief conservators office in main mandla if u need any help.

chief conservator is my personal friend so if you are a keen wildlifer then may be i can help you in some ways.

My idea of Kanha trip is taking the jeep safaris that covers different routes within the forests. I will stay for 3 days - so I plan to take 4-5 jeep rounds. Arrangements for anything extra that can be done or any useful tip would definitely be welcome. Thanks for the help.

Hi IM,

My first post on IM .

What should be the best way to reach Kanha from Gondia? Are there any govt/pvt buses plying? What about taxis?

PS - Many thanks to IM; the very idea for this trip came from the site.

Hi welcome to IM .. well gondia is on southern side of kanha .. you have two choices.
1. take a shuttle train narrow gauge to Balaghat which is about 40 km. and from there you can take a bus or taxi to mukhi gate.( about 80 kms.)
shuttle train runs about 4-5 times during day or take a taxi. private or state bus are very less.
2. or hire a taxi directly from gondia station to mukhi gate which is easier and time saving. please note Kisli gate from gondia is far more then mukhi gate from gondia. It doesnt matter if you enter park from mukhi gate or kisli gate , you can still visit core areas and also reach kanha main hub.
have a nice trip and happy sighting TIGERS ...

I booked them from the hotel only. And for all the safaris I used the same gypsy. So I assume they are not govt. managed

Safari charges are Rs 1050 (gypsy) + 150 (guide) + 530 (permit).
I stayed in Baghira Log Huts managed by MP Tourism. Charges were approx 3500 per day for a double room, inclusive of all food. There are a few other hotels at Kisli. I have provided some information at http://travelstorybook.com/kanha-ban...rh-information
