Photography in Omkareshwar and Mahakaleshwarar

Sir, I have planned to visit Omkareshwar and Mahakaleshwar between 3rd August to 5th Aug 2009. I am interested in taking photos of temples and places I have visited.
Please intimate whether camera is allowed in side the temples of Omkareshwarar and Mahakaleshwarar.
In certain temples like Kasi Viswanathar at Varanasi, Jagganath temple at Puri,Birla Mandir in Calcutta etc, nothing other than cash, pooja material is allowed to take inside.
In such case, proper protection of camera becames a problem.
If I come to know that I am not allowed to move with a camera, I can place the same in a secured place before I enter into the temple.
I shall be much thankful if any one could give an proper and correct idea about entering and moving into the temples with camera even if photography is not allowed or prohibited.

sengailingam,

when I read the title of your post I read it as Maheshwar, but then I googled Mahakaleshwar and found out that it's actually in Ujjain. So I've learnt something anyway!

Sorry I can't help you with your question (I was going to say that photography is not a problem in Maheshwar but that's not what you were asking!), I have been in Omkareshwar but unfortunately can't remember about cameras etc.

I hope someone will be able to help you. I wonder if it would help to put 'Ujjain' in the thread title?

Mahakaleswarar and Amaleswarar

Juliaf,
I went to Mahakaleswar Temple in Ujjain and also Mamaleswarar or Amaleswarar (Locals call in both names) as scheduled. Mamaleswarar is in Indore. One can reach the place directly from Chennai. We deposited our package in clock room and reached the temple at about 1000 AM. We had good dharshan. Here, photography is allowed.
We returned to Ujjain and already had arranged our stay in Yatri Nivas near Hotel Radha or Anand. The accommodation was simply excellent. In ujjain the most important temple is Mahakaleswarar. Locals call it as Mahakal. The early morning Arthi is called PASMA ARTHI. Excellent, to be seen. But for this no important is available in the temple. The temple is considerably very big and good. To have Pasma Arthi Dharshan, one has to reach the temple at least 0230 AM and join in the "Q". Try to get accommodation excatly sit opposite to the main door. However, the entire program is being telecast through "Closed Cable TV (CCTV)". The Arthi lasts upto 0630 hrs. The most important is here also photography is allowed. I learnt that in MP, photography is allowed every where.
