Mazha - it does indeed look wonderful! Thanks for posting this.
btw I have moved it into the State where Indore is, as I think more useful there.

I wonder how easy it'll be to find.....
Walking through Indore and finding a local, point and ask...."this way to the parrot temple?" reply whilst nodding "this way to the parrot temple" Oh no, here we go again. ![]() |

I wonder what sorghum is?
Mrs N would be hugely chuffed if we could get a roof-full of parrots like that! We hope they will come and eat the guavas off our tree (they do like guavas) but haven't had an luck yet. (Strangest place I've seen parrots: Hampstead Heath London.) |

Kolkata used to have trees full of parrots; I didn't see any last time.

Rose ringed Parakeets
How wonderful. I just saw this post now. Has anyone found out the name? What a delight, millions of Pollies all over the place.
Avid Trekker: I think Jowar is Ragi in Tamil, not sure. My tame sparrows love it, but the parakeets of my area seem to prefer biscuits and chapathies, they dont even touch the guavas or other fruit Ive tried to bribe them with. |

I think Ragi might be what Mrs N gets for the sparrows etc. A small, fairly soft, greenish seed?
Here's a parrot eating a guava from the tree across the road from our old house. Sadly they don't seem interested in the ones in our own tree here. I am though! I've been eating them so ripe they are falling off the tree, soft and yellow. Delicious. Only a handful, though; not enough water for more. |

Lovely photo Nick. Its so unfair isn't it? Your parakeets eat off the neighbours tree and mine prefer the neighbours chapatis!
