Panna via Chitrakoot

Can anybody highlight on the condition of road from Allahabad to Panna via Chitrakoot.

I hope you get some more recent information since this is from November 2005.

We hired a Tata Indica with a driver, as far as I can remember we went by ordinary two lane roads.
We traveled from Khajuraho to Chitrakoot, it took us five hours.
A few days later we went to Allahabad, a ride of 3 hours.
