I am planning visit to khajurao and then to varanasi.
I have booked bangalore - patna sangmitra express.
1)If i get down at satna how far is khajurao from here.
2)Are buses available from satna.
3)How to proceed to varanasi from khajurao.

1. Satna - Kahjuraho is around 120 Kms.
2. Yes buses are available.
3. For going to Varanasi first come to Jhansi (train/bus) and then you may take daily 1107 Bundelkhand Express.

If you book online you can sometimes get the flight on Air India from Varanasi to Khajuraho for around 2000 rupees one-way. They only operate Mon/Wed/Fri I believe....flight leaves VNS around noon.

We booked a flight from Khajuraho to Varanasi with Jet Airways for 3600 rupees per Person, it leaves Khajuraho at 1.25 p.m. and arrives in Varanasi at 2.10 p.m.
I think that also SpiceJet and Kingfisher Airlines operate Khajuraho-Varanasi, just check www.ixigo.com for times and rates!

Alternatively you could get a bus to Mahoba and take a train to Varanasi. The train leaves Mahoba at around 1 a.m. and arrives in Varanasi around 11 a.m.

Khajuraho is served by AI, Jet, and Kingfisher only. The best prices are on AI. My one way ticket on AI DEL-HJR is only 2300 rupee, my return one way ticket on Kingfisher is Rs 6500.....unfortunately AI wasn't available on the day I needed to return. AI serves HJR only Mon/Wed/Fri but Jet and KingF have greater frequencies.
