Khajuraho Dance festival

Hi

I am planning to visit Khajuraho during the dance festival this year during the weeknd. please help me find economical accomodation. I contacted hotel Casa di william which is offering me a double room for Rs 800/night. Is there any other cheaper accomodation avialable>?

Also wt would be the best way to travel from jhansi to khajuraho and where can one get tickets for the festival

Also, recently in the newspapers (Dec 2008 last week) I had read about the link trains from Mahoba to Khajuraho.

AFAIK, the tickets to festival should be availabe right there.

Good question; if anyone knows, please fill us in. Searching the web for it (or for "Festival of Dance" +Khajuraho) produces some hits mentioning it's held yearly from 25th February to 2nd March; my only problem with that is I thought it varies from year to year.

Ah look, this looks like an official site: http://khajurahodancefestival.org/ . Its calendar runs from Feb. 25th thru March 3rd. It lists some MPSTDC hotels as well (and has a "how to reach" section, which still mentions there is no train, so may not be fully up-to-date. I've not kept track of whether there is or isn't one by now.) What I can't seem to find in a hurry there is ticket prices.

Ya the khajuraho dance festival starts from 25 feb to 3rd march.
Dancers from all over India will perform various indian classical dances like Odissi, Bharatnatyam and others.
