khajaraho rail line ready or not?

I hear there is a rail extension being built from Mahboba in MP to Khajaraho.I have been to India 4 times and still have yet to visit Khajaraho b/c it is a pain in the &*%#@ to get to. A train line would be perfect and cheaper than the air link.

The line is supposed to open on the 15th of this month, though I've heard this kind of statement many times from Indian Railways, don't hold your breath.

An overnight train is planned to run 3 days a week between Delhi and Khajuraho, although the train will pass through Agra, the timings for Agra aren't great.

a sleeper train from Delhi to khajaraho sounds good.

The opening of the Khajuraho station was delayed because of the flooding in Bihar. The Minister of Railways was too busy with the mess from the flooding to officiate the opening ceremonies in Khajuraho so they postponed starting service for several months.
