Agra to Gwalior to Varanasi

Due to our schedule, we need to travel from Agra to Varanasi (by rail) on a Monday. We are thinking of catching a 17:15 to Gwalior (arriving at 18:50) and change to the 20:40 to Varanasi. This route has AC1 accommodations that we thought might be more comfortable than the AC2 available from AGF.

Is a two-hour connection reasonably safe?

For this short lay-over, is there anywere in the station to eat? Or is it possible to walk to Hotel Regency (or elsewhere) to get a snack?

Fog can cause heavy delays in December and January.

I don't think there is a need to go to Gwalior.

Train 2402 departs Tundla (22kms from Agra) daily at 23.30 and gets to Mughal Sarai (16kms from Varanasi) at 07.40

Train 2382 departs Tundla (Mon, Tua & Fri only) at 20.35 and gets to Varanasi at 05.20

Both trains have 1st AC.

Just get a taxi to Tundla and from Mughal Sarai if needed.

Thanks. I was working with the Trains Between Major Stations option which does not show Tundla as a possibility. The 20:35 is perfect.

Any suggestions on a place to eat in Tundla near the station?

Trying to catch a Tundla train to Varanasi. How do I get from Agra to Tundla? Is it a safe station? and is there place to eat around there?
