2-3 Days near Bilaspur

What are the options of spending 2-3 days near Bilaspur?.
Near in the sense of 5-6 hour bus ride, at most.

We are interested in Wildlife parks, Temple towns etc.
Journey to be done during Xmas holidays.

Mahamaya temple at Ratangad and Amarkantak is what i would reccomend

Thanks, spicetrekker. Seems more information is lacking on Amarkantak on IM. I wonder if you could point to more info,
as to travel from Bilaspur and Hotels?

We were in Amarkantak earlier this year. It is indeed a nice place.
I have written something about our stay in the February part of our travel journal From Kochi to Delhi

We had a car with us so I have no information about public transport. There are a lot of trains from Bilaspur to Pendra Road
From there you can take a bus to Amarkantak

You could also get a bus from Bilaspur to Keonchi which is at the foot of the hill and then another bus up to Amarkantak.
