>>>The road was a National Highway (No 202)
Hi All.. This is pvs_702, a relatively new(and rather silent!!) member on IM. I was one of the 4, apart from rangss on the trip. Rangss.. the NH is 212 not 202. 202 is that ghost of a highway which runs fine all the way from Hyderabad to Warangal and onwards to Mulug, but NEVER reaches Bhopalapatnam, its' 'supposed' destination. Since rangss is already on the way with his trip reports, he'll elaborate on the mysterious NH 16 & NH 202. |

Rangss,
Your Chattisgarh trep reports give me an impression that a visit to this place in monsoon is as adventurous as any Himalayn trekking in monsson. Your pictures of Chitrakote falls were superb. In fact I never thought that a muddy waterfall can look so beautiful. I ( and surely others too) are curiously waiting for your next part of the trip report. I am planning to do this trip from Vizag in August end. We are planning to take train from Vizag to Jagdalpur. I have researched the place and noted some must see: 1) Chitrakote Falls 2) Tirthgath falls 3) Kutumsar Caves. Have you found any other place that is worthseeing apart from these? if so let me know... ![]()

Uma,
The road between Bhadrachalam to Jagdalpur (around 300 km) is terribly bad, not enough place for two cars, nevertheless the landscape is really impressive. I did the trip from Jagdalpur to Bhabrachalam by bus last October and it was around 9 or 10 hours, terribly slow and noisy with quite a lot of police/salwa judum controls. Probably by private car it will take seven hours. Jorge |

Sure a journey to be cherished and thanks a lot for sharing it.
Myself planning this monsoon, vehicle being Tata Safari CAL - CHILIKA [2 days ] - JAGDALPUR [3 days ] - KONASEEMA [3 days] - CAL Some questions: Is 3 days okay or 2 days enough for Jagdalpur? Jagdalpur - Kakinada would be through the road via Sukma. We two along with our small child will be making the tour, hope the road is the way it was with the numerous checkpoints? Or is too unsafe now? Also planning alongwith Konaseema. Konaseema being name of the collective area, which are the places that one should touch during the 3 days in Konaseema. I would prefer no touristy place - just off beat places with simple clean hotels would do - places which capture the essence of the Konaseema area, . So looking forward from all to suggest a 3 day route map of what to cover and where to stay while in Konaseema and about anything in general that needs to be kept in mind. Thanks much in advance. |
