Mandu Hotel

Can anyone advise me on a reasonably clean hotel in Mandu in January. The Rupmati sounds ok but is a long way from the village is there anywhere else worth considering?

Stayed for almost a week in MPSTDC Tourist Cottages end August 2005, slighty priced but in my opinion the best option in Mandu and well situated. Rupmati is a good option but a little far from the village and when the light goes down (very often) they haven't generator.

Thanks Jorge. I have been to Mandu but it was twenty years ago and I stayed in a hotel in the village. This time I am bringing my wife with me and need a bit more comfort. What about Maheshwar and Omkareshwar? any advice on accommodation?, I haven't been to these places before. Mandu was one of my favourite places in India a truly magnificent spot, I don't suppose it has changed much.Sorry for the late reply I've been away for a few days.

About accommodation in Maheshwar have a look at the Hotel Section here in Indiamike. I have posted a couple of nice places. Regarding Omkareshwar, there is a good hotel overlooking the ghats but don't remember the name. Personally I prefer to stay in Maheshwar better than in Omkareshwar.
