Luggage storage at Jhansi/Datia
Are there any left luggage facilities at either Jhansi or Datia?
Also, aside from the fort is there much to see in Jhansi? I'm staying in Ochhra, so would it be feasible to see Jhansi in a morning then onto Datia then catch an evening train onto Gwailor? Any suggestions would be great. |

Perfectly feasible. There is I remember a left luggage at the station at Jhansi, I doubt if there will be one at Datia though. The distances involved aren't large, perhaps a taxi until Datia where you can store your gear in the trunk of the taxi while you go exploring.
Peronally I would skip the fort at Jhansi which really isn't worth it I've heard. Instead make a side trip from Datia to Sonagir, A hilltop of Jain temples far better IMHO! Many trains stop at Datia and make the 1.5 hour trip to Gwalior!! Try and get a picture of the inscription, that is the first recorded use of the number zero, it's inside the fort somewhere in a garden. It's to do with the dimensions of said garden I believe! |

Thanks CH, the itinary has been duly changed to included Sonagir. I just love Jain temples but didn't think I could fit everything in in one day....but I would rather see a hill top Jain temple than a poor example of a fort and as I'm going to the fort at Gwailor!!!
