Kanha NP: Getting to Tiger Country
Hi, My wife, 15 year old son and I are planning a trip from New Delhi to the Kanha National Park in January. It appears that Jabalpur is the best town from which to get to the park, but Nagpur may also be a possibility. But we also have this notion of an overnight train ride to get there. Does anybody have any advise on a good train trip which would arrive at our destination in daylight? We would prefer a private sleeping compartment. We look forward to any help and advice.

Hello
The train's 18hr, and there arnt any private compartments. We've flown to Jabalpur (just one budget airline available- airdeccan)and made it to Kanha in 5hrs. Next time we plan to fly to Nagpur as the lodge reccomends it, Jetairways flies to Nagpur, also the road journey is supposed to be an hour less. Have a great time :-) |

Thanks for that useful information, we will go via Nagpur. Which lodge did you stay at and would you recommend it? Much appreciated.
