Itinerary advice....Panchmari MP

Hi!
We 're planning a short holiday of abt -6-8 days to Panchmari from Kolkata during October.
The only part which is fixed is that we need to take a train to Pipariya and head towards Panchmari...
If anyone could provide answers to any/all of the following ....it wud be of great help!

1) Once we're at Panchmari...should we base ourselves here and travel around?What are the places to see?
2) We wish to include Bedaghat(Marble Rocks),Patalkot,Tamia too.
So how does one go abt it? As in what should be the sequence?
Where should we base ourselves etc.
3) Would trying to squeeze in Khajuraoh be too hectic and not worth the travel?

Any advice wud be of great help!

Someone else asked exactly the same questions and was rightly told that adding Khajuraho would involve too much travel and might spoil the whole trip.

How about a mini-Khajuraho?

I've got an idea...I'll just see if it can work and get back to you.

OK, I did say that this was just an idea, and this place won't compare with Khajuraho, but it's slightly easier to get to from Panchmari and a lot easier to get back to Howrah from, you also wouldn’t feel as rushed as you would if you chose Khajuraho.

Bhoramdeo Temples

The quote is from the following website, scroll to the bottom of the website page and click on the link.

Secret India - Bhoramdeo Jungle Retreat

Quote:
A few minutes' walk from Bhoramdeo Jungle Retreat is the temple complex of Bhoramdeo, whose structures date from the 11th century, contemporary and similar to those of better known Khajuraho.

The Bhoramdeo temples stand in mango groves by a picturesque lake where Paradise Fly-Catchers and other avian life can be spotted among the abundant trees and bushes.

Said to have been started by Raja Ramachandra of the Nag Dynasty, the Bhoramdeo temples exhibit many of the characteristics of the famous Chandela works of Khajuraho, including erotic sculpture in bas-relief, but of a more naïf tradition with hints of an eastern Orissa style not obvious in the renowned northern version.
Bhoramdeo is 100kms from Bilaspur and connected by a direct road, so buses shouldn't be a problem. (I've not checked though).

Train 2854 departs Pipariya daily at 18:44 and gets to Bilaspur at 05:05

2A = Rs 962
3A = Rs 699
SL = Rs 268

Train 2809 departs Bilaspur daily at 17:55 and gets to Howrah at 05:25

2A = Rs 1094
3A = Rs 792
SL = Rs 301

Another advantage of this option is that you would be allowed to use the 'break of journey' rules when buying your train tickets, this would allow you up to 3 days in Bhoramdeo and your Pipariya-Bilaspur-Howrah ticket would cost a total of: -

2A = Rs 1496
3A = Rs 1060
SL = Rs 409
