Singsub, stop multiplying yourself, is it due to your efforts in preparing paan for Rani?

The closest station to Pachmarhi is Pipariya; and the closest mainline junction station is Itarsi. If you can't get to Pipariya directly from Kolkata (I don't know if you can or not) then change in Itarsi. There should be no need to go right across to Bhopal.
From Pipariya there are plenty of jeeps and taxis up to Pachmarhi (about an hour). And MP Tourism has a hotel in Pipariya, useful if you arrive there late at night.

For hotels etc I'd suggest checking out MP Tourism as they have several properties in Pahmarhi

I apologize singsub, it seemed funny at the time, in retrospect rather puerile.

hi cutie...dont get misguided by singsub you dont have to go Bhopal if ur coming by train. For coming to pachmarhi from calcutta you can come by Howrah - mumbai mail(Via Allahabad which stops at Pipariya. Pipariya is the nearest railway station to pachmarhi. Though it is small station between Jabalpur and Itarsi, all major trains top at pipariya.only thing is that Howrah Mail must be reaching Pipariya at night...other wise its the best train that suits you from Kolkata. Check for other trains from train time table. from Pipariya to pachmarhi you will have to travel by road and there are lot of options..like private car, state transport buses. Dont hire Car from pipariya for your entire trip...because there are many points in pachmarhi where normal jeep/car will not go. You need a 4x4 gypsy. Lot of gypsy are available in pachmarhi which you can hire on per seat basis or entire gypsy.

Hotel details along with phone numbers i will forward you later. I recently visited the place in june last week and i found it very quite and close to nature. But you must visit it during monsoon or winter not after that if you wish to see the beauty of the place.

pachmarhi

Pipariya to pachmarhi is about 60km. I will forward you details of sight seeing points and hotels list with phone number by weekend. Many sight seeing places in pachmarhi have steep gradient where you have to go by gypsy or 4x4 wheel vehicle. So dont hire a car for full tour from pipariya becoz you will have to hire gypsy for few points. Gypsy is available in pachmarhi to hire on per seat basis or full gypsy.

I'd just like to add, for other people who might not be so keen on using jeeps for everything, that Pachmarhi is a great place to walk and especially to cycle. It is on a plateau so nice and flat, and because the army owns (or at any rate uses) the place the roads are really well maintained with good surfaces b ut there's not much traffic on them. You can then walk down to the waterfalls and pools, or go through the woods to the viewpoints. There are bicycle hire places in the bazaar.
