Bus from Satna to Khajuraho

Hi,

I would like to ask you, if somebody knows, how does the ticket on the bus from Stana to Khajuraho and from Khajuraho to Jhansi cost?

the price of any bus ticket is easily affordable in india, what you should look after is the ride comfort which if it last over 2 hours it becomes hard and hard to bear, unless you are able to get in a luxury bus or a private car with new absorbers, personally, to avoid such long time pain I stopped by train in mahoba, there is a bus every hour till 5 pm to khajuraho, the price is 30 rupies and it takes 3 hours to ride 63 Km! I guess shorter then from stana and jhansi though.

Mahoba is closer to Khajuraho, but when I planned my trip, I checked it as an option and if I remember well the train from Varanasi JN stopped there between 2-3 AM. But Im also interested in Lenka question.

Hi Lenka,

In October 2006, I went to Khajuraho from Satna Bus Stand by the MP State Transport Corporation bus, it starts at 6:30 in the morning and reaches Khajuraho at 10:30 a.m. This is the fastest with moderate comfort. The ticket cost is Rs. 65. There are other buses plying continously (every hour) from Satna to Khajuraho. The ticket cost is more or less the same.

unfortunately satna was not on my itinerary, coming from varanasi I prefered to stop at mahoba even though the train schedule on that track is unpredictable, but if the information of Bhaswaran is correct about the bus ride, it may be worth to try this route, maybe you want to check mahoba when you leave, because it has some interesting hidden sightseens which I missed because communications problems.

Often train running in this sector goes into jeopardy due to the single line between Naini and Manikpur, but if you want to go to Mahoba, the single line still continues. But Satna falls on the Allahabd-Mumbai main line and is a double line after Manikpur, this route is slightly better as several long distance expresses run through. Reach Satna, can stay in overnight hotel, or if there is still time, can try to go to Khajuraho. I saw buses even in evening calling for Khajuraho.

I took a bus from Khajuraho to Satna for 65 Rs and it took about 4 hours with stops to unload cargo. The bus conductor even took a 4 or 5 month old baby from a couple that was standing and gave her to me to hold for a few hours! It was great and the couple seemed to have no problem with it! It was funny because he didn't ask the couple or me!

Gotta love India...

Bus tickets are quite affordable in india. any way if you want to check them you can on www.easyticket.in or some other similar sites. generally it would be around 50 rupees per 100 kms.
