Question Where to stay in Mettupalaiyam

Hello,

Are there nice, clean hotels in Mettupalaiyam... if possible near the station?

Any suggestion?

Thanks!

Mettupalayam hotel

There are decent hotels in MTP. The station is kind of away from the business area but you should be able to take a cab or tuk-tuk. How long are you planning to stay there?
I found this one

Hotel Ems Mayura
212 Coimbatore Road,
Mettupalayam, Coimbatore ,
Tamil nadu, Inida
Phone: +(91)-(4254)-27936 / 27937
Fax: +(91)-(4254)-24534

There is also this Black thunder resort which is around 7 miles from MTP. Its a water theme park.. http://www.blackthunderpark.com/home.html

I will try to get few other..

Mettuppalaiyam station has one or more retiring rooms - why not stay there? I haven't stayed there myself, or seen what they are like, but its worth checking out. Ask the head Ticket Collector if there are any vacancies.

Retiring Rooms are generally excellent value - the only problem is that they can be a bit noisy, as trains run all night, so take your earplugs.

Edit 06Aug06 PS - from this page: http://www.indianrail.gov.in/retiring_rooms_sr.html I learn that Mettuppalaiyam has 2 Non-A/C doubles, costing 100rs/night.
