What to do with guests not turn up after reserving the place weeks ago ?
There are some guests who reserve the accomodation by telephone or e mail and not turn up on the dates they booked. They do not even communicate the cancellation. It is a difficult thing for small guest houses which do not take deposits .

Yes I do understand your concern. It is this reason that now almost all hotels need your credit card no. for claiming no show charges.
Do you get sufficient diners to keep afloat? If yes then try refusing advance reservation. I know of a few places where they serve first come first basis & except party booking where advance deposit is collected do not do advance table reservation. |

I think a lot of people regard a hotel booking as an option, not as a contract binding on both sides.
It seems very unfair to me not a cancel a booking in good time if necessary, and I have every sympathy with hotels taking credit card details and charging for no-shows.
