Varanasi Assi Ghat - guest house info..

Asked this question a couple of months back... wondering if anyone has contact details for a guest house on Assi Ghat - do not know the name, but it is located on the top couple of floors of the same building that the Hotel Palace on Ganges is in...

Wondering if anyone has stayed there, what were your thoughts of the place, good place to stay? and any contact details, prices etc.

Palace on the Ganges occupies about half of a large old building shared with at least two other hostelries. Palace on Ganges is the most upscale of the three. It occupies four or five floors and a penthouse garden, but there is no guest house above it. The central portion of the building extends another floor or two higher and is perhaps what you are thinking of. Unfortunately we do not know the name of the guest house,

We can tell you that the location is wonderful if you appreciate relative peace and quiet, hard to find elsewhere in Varanasi. And yet, it is only a few steps away from Assi Ghat where one of the nightly Arti ceremonies takes place. We found the location an easy starting point for a walk along all the ghats, at least at low water. It takes a little effort to find restaurants nearby: there is a highly visible pizzaria right at the ghat, a garden restaurant around the corner in the opposite direction [Haifa Garden Restaurant?] and a wonderfully grotty little restaurant a couple of blocks away that is a favorite with local expats,
