Three possible Ideas for Bangalore
Three possible Ideas for Bangalore
I am going to India for the first time on my own with goals of learning Hindi and exploring the culture. #1 I have options of working in for Microsoft through Bensaconsultants.com or #2 Working with a volunteer agency or #3 backpacking Bangalore and India on my own.
Would anyone have any suggestions either way of the best way to experience Bangalore and meet people. Should I get a full-time job, volunteer op, or just trek alone?
Other Ideas?
Thanks

seems the best advice anyone can give you is to do what you are most drawn to do. follow your bliss and enjoy!

Bangalore is ALL about working, IMHO. There's really not much else to do there in terms of interest. It's prolly the best way to meet Bangaloreans, too. If I had your options, I'd work, then bum around when my work was done. BLR is also a great place to get away from on weekends, as most areas of S. India are an overnight sleeper train ride away, if not closer. One could see a lot of the south while working there.

I don't get the draw to Bangalore. It is so polluted and hectic that I feel like I've wandered onto some hellish dance floor with the fog machine stuck on high.
Anyway, it should be noted that Bangalore is also not the ideal destination to study Hindi. Bangalore is a Kannada/English town.

India is the great Yin-Yang. Amazing lightness, equally amazing darkness. Wrapped up to make one complete whole.

India is the great Yin-Yang. Amazing lightness, equally amazing darkness. Wrapped up to make one messed-up whole.
