the best guesthouse in delhi

Hi my friends,
I'am arriving in Delhi on the 26th of July in Delhi, what is the best Choice for a guesthouse? Price should be around 300-400Rs for a double room...
Any recommendations? I don't want to bank only on the Lonely Planet!

Thanks for your answers.

You'll need to increase your budget about four to five fold to find a good guest house. Which part of Delhi are you planning on staying?

The central Delhi area is... it's called Lutyen's Delhi. I suggest Ahuja Residency in Golf Links http://www.ahujaresidency.com/guest_house.htm or JorBagh 27 http://www.innsite.com/inns/B007989.html

There are plenty of guesthouses/modest hotels in your price range in the Paharganj area near the New Delhi RR station -- this is the area generally favoured by budget travellers. If you check the Hotel listings you'll find 20 or so places in different price categories recommended by our members.

Amongst them is the Star Paradise, which is one member of a small chain of budget hotels which are decent value at 300 double. The Star Paradise was full the last time I passed through Delhi and the desk clerk called around to the others of the group, found a vacancy (Hotel Shivam International), and had a staff member take me to it which I thought was pretty good service for a budget operation.

(hmm, seeing your new post, I guess nobody would call Paharganj 'beautiful' -- convenient and inexpensive would be better adjectives )

Maybe you should state that you are recommending your own hotel?
