(Note : Our Budget is 14K for the two of us.Will that be Enough??) 3.Which one is preferable- rented Scooter or Cab? Mod Note: Please use regular black print in a normal size to write your posts. | I went to goa two or three years back with my bf. I was 19 that time but looked much younger and of course unmarried. There was no problem in getting a hotel at all. I have seen a lot of young unmarried couples in goa all happy and in love! So yes of course you can stay together in a hotel. We stayed at a luxurious hotel with a swimming pool bar lounge etc. The room cost us 1500 a night as we took an ac room but it was huge. There was a spacious living room with a mini bar tv ac sofa sets etc, a bedroom and a balcony. We stayed at calangute ... what a coincidence! We went to goa by train from mumbai and returned by a volvo bus. Both are good and convenient but i loved the volvo bus, it was such a romantic journey, moreover the buses have flexible timings and are easily available. On arriving at the goa station we took a cab but you can take an auto also. As you come out of the station you will find the auto and cab stand. Tell the driver about your hotel preferance and he will take you. We saw a few hotels and took the one we loved the most. No hotel denies you entry because you are not married in goa which is great. So no pressure to pretend that you are married. The people there are very warm, broad minded and they love life. When I went there, it was my first holiday and it was truly amazing. Everyone could understand we are not married and are young, but they were very helpful and sweet. Be nice to the ppl there and they will be ready to help you in return. However try and bargain for hotel rooms, cab etc but everything with a smile and things will be smooth. You can enjoy water sports at the beach, the sun beds are free for everyone but you need to order food since they let you sit or relax there. Reminds me about the food, its mouth watering. Try stuffed fish, steak etc amazing food there but didnt like the items with gravy much. You can rent bikes if you have licence else cycles and roam around. Beautiful churches, lakes many beaches for tourists, the shops have nice tee shirts, skirts beach wear for pretty cheap, even cheaper if you request a discount. The calagute beach is very nice, friendly ppl and the goa beaches are the few beaches in india where one can wear swimsuit or shorts in public without being stared at, let alone commented upon. People booze also in public and serve liquor freely., again rare in india. We used to be in the beach all day, in the evenings you can enjoy candlelit dinners on the beach, there is music and dancing, its all good fun, great weather and amazing location, all together very romantic. Im sure you will have a wonderful holiday. If there is anything else you need to know just ask, simple! |

| Thanks Ciya! That solves my Problem. I am preferring to stay in Calungate because i came to know about the popularity of the beach(restaurants,Places for shopping and all..).Hope i will find a good place to stay there and have a wonderful vacation. If possible let me know the places which i should visit in North Goa,apart from the popular beaches like ANJUMA,BAGA,CANDOLIM.Something that u thought was extraordinary....and should be visited by every tourist. | Rahul i'm so sorry I cant help you out with the other beaches much since we had a short trip you know. I had just entered college that time so couldnt be away from home for long lol! Anjuna beach I heard is not that safe but well known for its rave parties, heard ppl do drugs and stuff so be a little cautious about these rave parties and some discs there, better to be safe right.. On another note if you are looking for safe but beautiful places to holiday with your gf you can visit nearby areas of gangtok darjeeling etc as me and my bf often go trekking or for private and romantic vacations there. Anyway let me know how ur trip goes, cheers :-) |
