Suggestions from experience?

I'm currently staying at a Jaipur hotel and have made an agreement with the manager to do some volunteer work in exchange for a discount on my board. I'm from Australia and know that the hostels in Australia provide a free night in return for some duties.

I was wondering from peoples personal experience if any advice can be given. This is the first time I've worked at a hotel, and the first volunteer he's taken on, I'm just wondering what i might expect.

To give others an idea of the size and cost, the hotel has 20 rooms that cost between Rs650 and Rs1200 a night.
