Hello!

I will be arriving in New Delhi with two other people in May around 3:30am. It is our first time in India... are there any budged lodging suggestions with 24 hour check in? Our only requirements are cleanliness, somewhere to shower, no more than RS700 - 800 per person MAX.

Hostel- like place would be fine. Maybe someplace in Paharganj; it would be nice too meet fellow travelers.

Thank you!

Hello KMD,
Paharganj would be a perfect place to stay on budget scale. In the range of 700-800 you would get excellent accommodations.
Dont book trough agents as that adds up to the cost. Just reach Paharganj and then do a window shopping and bargain as much you can and check up for the rooms yourself before checking in. You will get a deal in your budget.
Just dont hesitate in walking from one hotel to other to check up the rooms, then check in to the best you feel.

if you land at 3 30 am at the airport i think you should wait a while at the airport if you want to bargain for better price at the hotels. once the sun rises and it gets bright its better to do so. however it will not be easy for you bargain and walk around if you are coming for the first time.there are some good hotels which are known to the travelers here and i do hope they will tell you names of such trusted places and then you can decide which one to pick up.my personal experience at hotel hari piorke has been always good and it is preferred by a lot of tourists from abroad. clean rooms ,a/c 24 hrs hot and cold water good service and good price of 1200 to 1500 for a double room. you can google the name and get information.a lot more suggestions will come from experienced travelers.

Thank you for the information. I am looking into Hotel Rak International. They have 24 hour check - in and seem fairly cheap. Any personal experiences, advice, ect. with this hotel?

According to their website check-in/out at the Rak is 12 midday.

Policies and Disclaimer

1. Check In any time and Check Out 12 Noon.
2. Bookings are also done on Phone and E-Mails.
3. Contact one week before for phone and E-Mails bookings.
4. For cancellation pls inform one day before the booking

Correction- usually in Paharganj if you arrive after 9am it's OK , before and they want to charge for the previous night.
I'd get something in writing!
I met a couple staying there in December 2010.
They thought it was fine , as long as you don't expect too much.

Remember that in May A/C is highly recommended!

Thank you for the advice. I checked the website, check out is indeed noon, though check in says "any time". As for charging, I was willing to be charged for the night because of the odd hour we are arriving... Though it seems we could probably do better. I'll keep searching!
