I haven't stayed there, but based on my own Google research (which you should do, by the way), my guess is you have to be a member, or be a member of a reciprocal club, in order to stay there. It's the fact that the Delhi Gymkhana Club shows up on various lists of reciprocal clubs that make me suspect that the general public can't stay there. It seems to me that the best way to find out whether you have to be a member is to contact them. Their location and phone number are listed in various places if you "Google" them.

What do you mean by "any ideas on location?" Are you asking where it is, or whether the location is "good"? It's near the diplomatic area. The area is good. As I said, why don't you "Google" it?

No, no. I haven't stayed there, so I don't know about the level of accommodation. It's a private club and quite a fancy one too, I reckon. The other clubs whose members have reciprocal privileges at the Delhi Gymkhana Club are certainly fancy-schmancy enough! Unless you are a member of one of those other clubs, I don't think you'll be able to stay at the Delhi Gymkhana Club.

If it's accommodations at the highest level (and with a price to match) you're looking for, try The Imperial on Janpath. I haven't stayed there either, not being made of money, but I've eaten there and it's pretty spectacular. Not really what I go to India for, but there is something to be said for a leisurely lunch in the Garden Room, or whatever thay call that greenhouse/patio restaurant there.

Yes, you need to be a member to stay there, or a member has to make your reservation on his membership.
It located in south central delhi near Race Course and near PM's house. Its also near to Indira Gandhi memorial and 2kms from Hotel Ashok in Chankyapuri.
Its a quite area and very green. But since its bit far from any hotels or touristy things, getting a local transport is going to be difficult and you'll have to depend on a taxi/car.
