Stay in Kovalam-hotels/meet up?

Hi,

Will be arriving in Kovalam around May 6th, Just looking for "good" accomadation-clean, secure and pleasant. I am new to India so something relatively comfortable. I am looking for a weeks accomadation at around 250-350 rupees a night, Single Bed-private room, close to the beach. Any one have any suggestions I would love to hear about them.

P.S I would love to meetup with anyone travelling in Kovalam or living there at this time for tea, meets some people, get a feel for the place. Let me know what you think

you can get a lot of hotels in the same range
some of them in the beach side are hotel orion , little elephant house , ect
and in the second line hotel california and volga palce ect. and there is a lot iam sure and you dont need to pay that much in may iam sure .

Especially at the time of year you're arriving, you should be able to get a great room for that price - wouldn't need to book or anything.

Varkala's also a lovely spot, about an hour north by bus. I'm here at the moment and think it's much nicer than Kovalam
