Room in 'Tibetan Delhi'?

Heya,
can anyone recommend a really budget place to stay around the tibetan settlement in Delhi? I'm thinking like four walls a roof and some smiles.
Thanks a lot.

I guess you are talking about the Majnu-Ka-Tila area. The Norbu Guesthouse seems to be very popular with foreigners. There are a lot of new places coming up everyday. It is better to arrive and check out the places yourself. Some of them have a nice garden to sit out etc.

Are you still confused, mountaingirl? My guess is that you're referring to Wongdhen House.

Wongdhen House
tel 91-11-2381 6689
fax 91-11-2381 8962 (taken from the last issue of Tibetan Review)
There is a email adress as well , but last time I got no response.
Popular among Tibetans : the day I signed in I seemed to be the only non-Tibetan (the next day a Japanese group arrived).

The official rates are around Rs. 250-900 depending on the type and location of the room. Certainly not the cheapest in MKT, but one of the best, in my experience.

Friends,
I paid 225 for a double recently but a friend of mine got a room on the roof for just over 100 (shared facilities). In my opinion it's a great place to stay although a little far away from Delhi centre.
