Welcome to IndiaMike Sharmila
You can check this thread about hotels in Rishikesh. About attached kitchen I suppose you have to call and ask the hotel itself. http://www.indiamike.com/india-hotel...h-hotels-c115/
Also check for homestay in rishikesh as they will have better chance of providing you a kitchen than a hotel.

There are several hotels Laxman Jhoola side that have rooms with kitchenettes you could contact them and find out. Some single room flats are available on monthly rental (short term) at Ganga Vatika i and Ganga Vatika II. The rents range from 12 - 18 k a month.

thank you. would you know how i can contact them to make an advanced booking Thank you all for your responses.
Check the below two links.I visited Dharamsala last year and saw the rooms of East Home. Spacious rooms with attached bathroom, kitchen with cooking gas and utencils. a small beautiful garden in front of the room. The only problem was that it took 50-60 steps down to reach the hotel, and my mom would have had hard time walking up and down the stairs. the rent was just rs. 300/- per day. Finally we stayed in a hotel in Bagsu, but came back in a week.

thanks for suggesting the place but i am not looking for hotel as such.i want to know if there are rooms being rented out by local families and where one can read and find abt them. i am aware there are numerous hotels on both sides of the laxman jhula and even many budgeted ones but all prices are way high these times.(read a list from lonely planet guide)
i am hoping for specific leads.
regards
Just curious although I realize the post was two years ago if you found something comparable to EastHome in McLeod Ganj in Rishikesh. I am also at EastHome now and plan to come to Rishikesh and would like a similar kind of apartment
