Provide passport photo for booking?
Hi all, we have just been asked to provide a passport photo for the hotel we have just booked when we arrive. Is this common? Never happened on previous trips to Delhi, it's just a 3 star hotel. Do many hotels expect this?

First time hearing it.
Generally hotel guys ask for photocopy of any ID proof which carries photographs. You may ask the hotel guys regarding the necessity of photograph (how would they use it)!

The only time I've had to produce a passport photo was when I bought a mobile data USB stick. I've never been asked for one when booking hotels, so unless it's a brand new requirement, I believe your hotel is either asking in error, or it's a communication issue.

Now it's mandatory for hotel to have a copy of photo I.D proof of every guest .in case of indian person it's a voter card /pan card /driving licence /passport /any other id issued by govt or govt department but in case of Foreigner they have to provide copy of passport .
