Please suggest cheap and best hotels at Thiruvananthapuram

I am looking for a hotel closer to the railway station preferably having triple bed rooms for one night stay. Price should be within 800.

I'm also looking for a room for one person, my first 3 nights in INDIA! I'll be landing in Trivandrum and have 3 days before continuing on... and have no idea really where to stay :

in the city?
heading out to kerala?

melimay, I once stayed at Wild Palms Homestay in the City(the couple who run this have another newer place at the beach but that one is a little isolated).

I found Wild Palms a very good introduction to South Kerala. The homestay still has mostly good reviews on Tripadvisor although the two locations seem to be mixed up.

Thanks for the reccomendation, I think I'll book my first night there!
