place in Hyderabad??
place in Hyderabad??
Hello people!
This is Dieke, from Rotterdam, Holland, chilling out in Goa.. which is really good.
Me and my boyfriend arrived 10 days ago in Bombay, had some nice, funny and typical INDIA_EXPERIENCES already, for example the great overbooking of 40 seats by Air India (which, turned out not to bad... in a Gulf-Air plane..).... and there was more.
But anyway, Untill now I really enjoyed the forum, very nice way to prepare for the trip, and had a lot of 'preparingfun' because of this.
Some questions..
- does anyone know cheap or at least reasonable lodging in Hyderabad?? This will be our next destination, we'll arrive in the middle of teh night... so....
- We are looking for a cheap flight from Kathmandu to Delhi... any suggestions??
Hope to speak 2u later on...
Greetings, Dieke

Thank people
Hi and thanks for your advise. Actually Hyderabad is so no-touristic, that you can, without much problems, just ask a riksaw gut at the station to bring you to any cheap hotel. They will not rip you off.. (or at least I really think they don't, if they do, they are very good in doing it, without you noticing it!).
So we are now staying in the Preethi hotel whioch is fine, Rupee 500 a day, and very indian.
You can tell thet they are not used to foreigners at all. and I like that. They can't understand Lemon tea, they say that the shower will be hot in alf an hour, but it will never be hot, they dno't know how to make a bed with two sheets, etc. I fnd it so charming!
So if you want comfort, you might better avoid it.. if you want Inida, I recommend it.
Greetings Dieke

Hotel Rajmata - Hyderabad
OK for one night, but overpriced and a bit run down. Splash out for the deluxe rooms (about Rs 500). the ordinary rooms in the old part of the building are cheap (Rs80) but disgusting.
Hmm not exactly selling this place. But its the closest hotel to the train station i think - just walk down station road and it's right in front of you when you get to the t-junction. It's in lonely planet

Hotel Rajmata
I stayed at Rajmata 15 years ago... nice to know something hasn't changed! At the time, it was the only hotel I'd stayed at that had a TV -- all local programming, all in Telegu!
They still make good cheese pakora at the restaurant there; I had some last winter when I was in Hyderabad -- which is one of my favorite cities in India!
